Senior Engineer - Flood Risk & Communications at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA)

With a background that spans engineering, planning, and public relations, Rehana Rajabali enjoys tackling urban development challenges from a multi-disciplinary perspective. After graduating from the University of Waterloo’s civil engineering program, she returned to her hometown, working for the City of Calgary in both the Water Resources and Planning departments. Her work there informed the City’s flood emergency response plans, and she played an active part providing technical expertise to support several flood events in Calgary, including the June 2013 event. After completing her Masters of Urban Design Studies at the University of Toronto, she joined the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. Currently, she is the Senior Engineer for Flood Risk & Communications, working to reduce the risks of riverine flooding to those living in TRCA’s jurisdiction. Her work spans the full spectrum of hazard management, from advancing flood forecasting and warning tools to educating partners and citizens about flood risks.
