Dr. Steven Gwynne is a Senior Research Officer at that National Research Council of Canada, where he has roles in fire safety in the built environment and passenger safety in aviation. He has worked in evacuation and pedestrian dynamics for 20 years, adopting academic, consultant and government roles in the UK, US and Canada. He has examined people movement in aviation, maritime, rail and the built environment, and urban-scale scenarios. As part of this work he has addressed issues related to life safety, security, routine circulation, procedural/structural design, incident investigation, and product design.
