Marcel is Head of Weather & AgRisk Partners at Munich Re, based in Zurich, with global responsibility for origination and underwriting. He also currently serves as President of the Weather Risk Management Association (WRMA).
He joined Munich Re in 2005 and has held senior roles across reinsurance and primary insurance, with a longstanding focus on alternative risk transfer and structured risk solutions. Prior to assuming his current global role, he built and led Munich Re’s weather risk management activities across EMEA and APAC.
Today, Marcel leads teams in Houston, Munich and Zurich developing tailored weather and parametric risk solutions for clients across industries, helping them manage earnings volatility, protect financial performance and enable growth.
He holds an MBA from the University of Mannheim, with a focus on Insurance, Banking and Finance.
