Mahan Azimi

Director, Catastrophic Risk & Emerging Risk Policy, IBC at IBC

Mahan Azimi leads national policy portfolios and multidisciplinary teams addressing some of the insurance industry’s most complex and evolving risks, including catastrophe resilience, climate adaptation, sustainable finance, artificial intelligence and cyber risk. Working at the intersection of industry, government and regulation, he translates complex economic and systemic risks into practical policy solutions and advocacy strategies.

Mahan joined IBC in 2021 following roles in the federal government and private-sector consulting. He holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto.
