Over 15 years experience in emergency management, with a particular focus on off-site nuclear emergency planning, exercising and response. Currently retired from the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management as Director, Emergency Management.

Member of the IAEA EPREV Hungarian 2016 mission.

Participant in recent International Atomic Energy Agency curriculum development working group for international EPR course.

Guest lecturer at IAEA School of Radiation/nuclear Emergency Management pilot course, Trieste, Italy September 2015

Keynote speaker at International Atomic Energy Agency Technical Meeting on Lessons Learned from Past Emergency Preparedness Review (EPREV) Missions – July 2014 and at International Experts Meeting on Severe Accident Management in Light of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant – March 2014.

Participant in International Atomic Energy Agency workshop on Protective Actions in a Severe Nuclear Emergency – March 2013.

Member CSA working group on nuclear emergency response standards CSA N1600.

Co-chair, Federal Provincial Territorial Radiological/Nuclear Emergency Management Coordinating Committee.

Participant in Health Canada’s Radiological and Nuclear field Response Training (2014).

Provincial Lead for Exercise Unified Response and Exercise Huron Challenge – with over 50 organizations simulating a nuclear response to a severe accident. Consequence management lead for G8/20 exercises (Sentry and Guardian) and Provincial lead for Trillium Transguard exercise (urban transit).

Actively involved in emergency response in Ontario at Planning Section Chief and Duty Operations Chief levels. Numerous activations related to forest fire evacuations, spring flooding, chemical spills, tornadoes etc.

Specialties including emergency planning for Nuclear, Pandemic and Foreign Animal Diseases events and related emergency exercising.
