Derek Cook

Derek Cook serves as the Director of the Canadian Poverty Institute at Ambrose University in Calgary where he chairs the Fair Access to Insurance Roundtable. He has over thirty years of research, policy and community development experience in the government, academic and non-profit sectors working with organizations across Canada. He holds an M.Sc. in Community Development Planning from the University of Guelph, a B.A. in Political Studies from McGill University and is a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
