Gregory Flato, Ph.D

Senior Research Scientist at Environment and Climate Change Canada

Dr Flato has worked on the development of a series of global climate models used to simulate historical climate variations and project future climate change. He is an elected Vice Chair of the IPCC’s Working Group I and served as a drafting author and review editor in the IPCC 6th Assessment Report. Previously, he served as a Coordinating Lead Author of the model evaluation chapter in the IPCC 5th Assessment.

Dr Flato received his BSc and MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada, and a PhD in Engineering Science from Dartmouth College, USA.
