
Lou Di Gironimo
General Manager at Toronto Water
Lou Di Gironimo has been the General Manager of Toronto Water, a division of the City of Toronto, for over 20 years. Under his leadership, over 1,900 staff in Toronto Water focus on providing quality water services – supplying drinking water, treating wastewater and managing stormwater – essential for protecting public health, property, and the environment.
Toronto Water serves almost 4 million residents and businesses in Toronto and portions of York and Peel and manages over $90 billion in infrastructure.
Lou has diverse experience in both the private and public sectors, including at both the municipal and provincial levels of government. Some organizations he has been associated with prior to joining Toronto Water include the City of Hamilton, the Ontario Clean Water Agency and the Ontario Development Corporation. He also has experience working for private engineering and land development companies.
During his extensive career, Lou has had gained significant experience managing municipal infrastructure and urban development issues. He holds a bachelor’s degree in applied arts (Applied Geography) from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University).
