Jessica Strauss
Manager at Public Safety Canada
Jessica Strauss is the Manager of the Anticipatory Financing team within the Emergency Management and Programs Branch at Public Safety Canada. The team she leads is working to stand up a federal reinsurance product to support flood insurance availability nation-wide. Jessica’s expertise is rooted at the intersection of behavioural economics, financial stability, and emergency management in a changing climate. Prior to joining the Government of Canada in 2010, Jessica was a management consultant at Arup in New York where we led the Sustainability Practice to deliver strategic advice to all orders of government, academic institutions, and private sector firms. Jessica received her MBA from the Yale School of Management, where she was a Switzer Foundation award recipient, and her Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University.
Jessica serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Ingenium Foundation, on the Board of Directors for a Community Foundation, on the Yale School of Management Alumni Advisory Board, and is an active member of the Canadian Ski Patrol.
