Senior Vice President, Catastrophe Management at Aon Reinsurance Solutions

Paul Cutbush joined Aon Benfield Analytics in 2012 to take on the new role as Head of Catastrophe Management for Canada and the Caribbean, leading Canada’s largest team of catastrophe analysts.

Prior to joining Aon Benfield, Paul worked seven years as the Canadian property treaty line manager for Swiss Re Canada and eight years for the Munich Re Group including three years at their head office in Munich, underwriting and leading global catastrophe programs. In addition to Swiss Re and Munich Re, Paul started his insurance career in Europe in the early nineties underwriting industrial fire business for the Gerling Group in both Brussels and Cologne.

In addition to over 20 years of underwriting experience, Paul is active in the Canadian insurance industry including being the previous chair of the Reinsurance Research Council’s Underwriting Research Committee, is a member of both The Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction’s Earthquake Subcommittee and Insurance Advisory Committee, the Insurance Bureau of Canada’s Flood Technical Advisory Group and regularly shares his reinsurance expertise with professional associations including The Toronto Insurance Conference, Montreal’s Cercle des assurances IARD, The Insurance Institute of Canada, Insurance Brokers of Toronto Region, BC Society of Fellows and The Insurance Association of the Caribbean.

Paul is a Chartered Insurance Professional and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Certificat de français pratique from Western University.
