Director, Ag Risk Management Resources at MNP
Steve is the Director of MNP’s Agriculture Risk Management Resources (ARMR). Based in Lethbridge, he brings more than two-and-a-half decades of experience, working closely with a wide range of agricultural producers from across Canada. He helps producers understand AgriStability and other business risk management programs, how these programs impact financial statements and financial viability, and how to optimize program coverages and payments within the context of an overall farm insurance risk management strategy.
Steve oversees the Firm’s provision of AgriStability, AgriInvest, Ag Risk Management Projector™ and other ARMR services, including service design, development, implementation, training and monitoring of service delivery systems and processes.
An accomplished public speaker, Steve collaborates with producer groups, government administrators and policy makers on issues relating to AgriStability / AgriInvest program design and assessing practice. He researches and writes technical reports on AgriStability and AgriInvest, and provides consulting and appeals support on complex program scenarios for producers across Canada.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) from the University of British Columbia in 1986 and completed the Executive Program for Agricultural Producers with Texas A&M University in 2015. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1989.
