Vanessa Perugien

Head of Civil Security Division at City of Laval

Vanessa holds a DESS in major risk management and is studying for a PhD in sociology.
Since the end of 2022, Vanessa has been working for the City of Laval, where she holds the position of Civil Security Division Manager.

Over the past 9 years, she has held various positions, including:
Coordinator of the adapted emergency measures project for deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Quebec with ReQIS;

• Analyst for the National Committee for the Transformation of the Emergency Prehospital System (CNTSPU);

• Regional Assistant Coordinator for Emergency Preparedness, Public Health Agency of Canada – Quebec Region;

• National Disaster Preparedness and Risk Reduction Manager for The Salvation Army – Canada and Bermuda Territory.

Actively involved in emergency management, Vanessa is also a member of various committees promoting a culture of civil security and greater resilience, such as ROHCMUM (former President) and the Association de sécurité civile du Québec (ASCQ).
