Vanessa Wen

Vanessa Wen is the Director of the Strategic Policy Division in the Emergency Management and Programs branch at Public Safety Canada. Her team’s main areas of focus include delivering on several actions under the Emergency Management Strategy for Canada, such as the National Risk Profile. Her team also leads on mitigation policy, climate change and adaptation policy, and data strategies related to disaster resilience.
Prior to this role, Vanessa held senior positions at Health Canada and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University.
